We completed an internal renovation of our 1950s 3 bedroom house in Camp Hill with Urban Scene Construction in 2009. As we had recently renovated two bedrooms and the living areas it was important that the new renovation blended seamlessly with the existing finishes and that construction did not damage the recently completed works.The project involved demolition of exiting internal load bearing walls, asbestos removal, raising a section of internal floor, installing exterior French doors and new ceilings and wall framing to two bathrooms, one bedroom and the kitchen.Jason delivered an extremely high quality of workmanship and completed all works to a very high standard with quality material used throughout. We found Jason to be very professional and easy to work with which was particularly important as we were living in the property throughout the renovation.We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Urban Scene Construction to anyone considering a renovation or new construction project.

We recently finished some extension work for our house, by adding a kitchen, bathroom and 2 more rooms. Before renovating, we had a detailed discussion about everything that had been planned, and what would be happening throughout the process. As we were in Emerald at that moment, it made it more difficult for us, and caused a bit of worry between our families, as everything had to go according to the plan.Yet, at the end, we hardly had to do any work, as Jason and Chantal took care of all the details. We had a good communication with Chantal, and at no time, were we rushed to make hasty decisions without previous notice. We received regular updates, along with photos very often, just as we needed. It was very easy to contact Chantal, even on the weekends and she responded promptly. The house was an extravagant piece of work, and we were really pleased with the end result, as well as the hard work and effort that was put into the extension of the house. My wife only saw the house at the end, as she couldn’t visit it throughout the renovation. She was pleased with the work, as it was dreamy pictures come true. The project was completed within the given time. Jason brought our idea into a perfect house. Even after the renovation had been completed, he still visited the house, and made sure everything was running smoothly. Our family was very impressed, as even though we were not there in person, everything still worked out properly. We would like to give our heart-felt thanks to Jason, Chantal and the team. Both Jason and Chantal did an exceptional job for us with a complete renovation of our investment house in Manly, Brisbane. We live in Sydney and were locked out of Queensland due to COVID border restrictions for much of the 8 month project, however their communication and consultation throughout that period was fantastic. We have recently completed a very extensive extension and renovation with Urban Scene Construction. Jason and Chantal made the experience so easy for us. We lived on site for most of the 6mth build and while I’m sure it complicated it for them, they were wonderful and supportive. The flow of information and general communication could not be faulted. We’ve had renovations done before and found it very stressful, but with Urban Scene Constructions we were more than happy. We recently engaged Urban Scene Construction for a major renovation project on our property, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. They built a new carport, retaining walls, driveway, and a stunning deck around our pool. From start to finish, their team demonstrated outstanding communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

The transformation to our property is incredible—so much so that friends have driven right past it, not recognizing it! The street appeal has improved dramatically, and the entire space feels refreshed and modern.

I wanted to write down all the reasons why we are so thoroughly delighted with the complete renovation you have done with our Investment unit in St Lucia.

My husband and I have not been involved in such a big renovation before and because we live on the Gold Coast, we were looking to engage a builder who could just 'make it all happen' without us having to be experts on all things building and construction, and without us needing to physically be there on site every week.  We found this and more in Urban Scene.

The quality and ease of e-mail and telephone communication was fantastic.  Everything was clear and concise. we didn't have to chase people around to get things done, and every week we received an update with what work had been done, what was owing, what quotes we had not yet signed off on and what decisions were outstanding.  At no time did we feel pressured to make decisions.  Jason and Chantal also never 'dumbed down' their communication with us, nor did they provide us with loads of jargon that we would have never understood.  There was complete transparency, we knew where we stood and we were not taken advantage of.

During the building process, there was always unexpected discoveries - we found that our bathroom had extensive water damage behind the tiles, but Jason provided us with clear and costed alternatives with pros and cons, so we could make an informed decisions.  Nothing was a problem and experts were brought in where necessary to resolve the issue without the project being delayed.

Jason and Chantal also listened to our needs - they knew that this was an investment property, so we needed to get the right balance between getting the modern, new feel we wanted, and the fact that we didn't want to overspend and reduce the rental return possible.  Jason and Chantal made suggestions that increase value without overcapitalizing.  As a result of the renovations, our managing agent has advised that we will get an increase in annual rent on what we were getting before the renovations of almost 8% of the renovation cost.  This is a great return on our money.

Importantly, the quality of workmanship is incredible - Jason and Chantal have a fabulous eye for detail and the finishes are superb.  They provided some great suggestions to really complete the look we were after, such as four tiered cornicing.

Finally, the guys were always available when we needed them and were happy to come out to the unit on weekends for us to meet and discuss progress.

After 2 months of work, we have come away with a beautifully completed job, and friends that we would recommend to anyone.  We thoroughly enjoyed the entire process and look forward to engaging Urban Scene for our next job!

5 Stars *****  I'm an independant freelance photographer and take photos of some of the completed jobs for Urban Scene Construction for marketing purposes. I do get to talk "first hand" to some of the customers with completed jobs. They are always singing praises of Urban Scene Construction.  The details and the workmanship of the jobs are on point.  Highly recommended.

We have used Urban Scene Constructions on three separate occasions and have always been happy with the quality of their work, their attention to detail and their service. As our home is circa 1960 and built on a steep hill, many builders did not want to even quote our jobs once they understood the scale of the renovations. In 2013 we gutted and modernised our post-war home.

The renovation included adding an ensuite and walk in robe, renovating the kitchen, laundry and main bathroom, re-wiring the house and relocating the plumbing. We also added retaining walls and drainage. It was a huge job and of the 4 quotes we obtained Urban Scene’s was by far the most detailed. We used them again in 2014 to replace our balcony and build our deck. More recently we contracted Urban Scene in 2018 to build our carport which again included substantial retaining work.

Jason has provided exceptional workmanship on all our jobs. One major plus for Urban Scene is having Chantal project manage the jobs, she was always contactable both during and after the builds and responds quickly to any queries. We would definitely recommend Jason and Chantal for anyone looking to build/renovate.

We recently completed our extension at Booligal St in February 2012. The project involved 2 additional bedrooms, relocating the entry to our house and creating internal stairs. We engaged and selected Urban Scene Construction to complete our extension because of the following reasons: 1. Jason made an appointment to discuss the extension and attended when he said he would. – Reliability.  2. The discussion was very open and informative with Jason providing additional suggestions and ideas of what could be supplied. – Excellent communication.  3. Jason provided the quote within a timely manner and was very open to changes and additions. – Honesty. Once the extension commenced, Jason provided us updates throughout the course of the works, open to changes and able to provide quotes so there were no additional “surprises”. The quality of workmanship delivered and the materials used were of a high standard, with Jason ensuring we were happy with the work that was completed that day or week.
