We worked with our clients to achieve a large rear extension to both the upper and lower levels of this home as well as remodeling the existing areas on both floors to completely update the entire home.
The extension allowed for better flow of indoor and outdoor spaces, larger entertaining areas, new master suite, WIR and ensuite. The extension to the upper floor incorporated a new kitchen with a better layout, a larger living and new dining area seamlessly connecting the new upper level deck through the use of large one-way opening bifolds, for privacy to the decks shutters were used.
The kitchen was to be the main feature of the upper floor and it was to have character, warmth and be inviting. We used 2-pack doors in 30% gloss level to achieve a satin look and feel on the shaker style doors, the bench tops were finished in a true marble with slabs specially selected, we increased the size of the breakfast bar for better functionality and for an opulent finish we used Bisazza tiles from the bench top to the ceiling creating another special feature to the kitchen. Frameless glass balustrade was used to update the stairwell, the balustrade can been seen from the entry door which allows glimpses of the entertaining areas so the home maintains it open appeal.
The lower floor extension was to be contemporary with the walls finished in plasterboard rather than a combination of plasterboard and VJ to dado rail height like the upper floor, we then matched the decorative cornice from the upper floor to the master and living areas on the lower floors. The ensuite was to be classic yet different, we used a feature tile for the floor with a simple colour palette to let the floor shine, the custom cabinetry emulates the kitchen through the same use of finishes, this ensuite is unique and beautiful. This renovation has made this family home a wonderful entertainers haven with style, elegance and beauty.
