Renovation and Extension Norman Park Project 1

Traditional Queenslander Home Renovation and Extension

This Queenslander was in much need of an update, our clients asking for a complete internal renovation.

We reconfigured the internal layout of the home to allow for a more open plan feel, providing additional living space, an extra bedroom and bathroom.

By remodeling the internal configuration we were able to relocate the kitchen allowing us to increase it’s size and provide a designated dining area that successfully connects with the deck through the use of new stacker doors.

All the walls of the home were relined with VJ wall linings, floors were polished and new wardrobes were added to the bedrooms, we added additional storage to the hallway and to new windows to allow for spread of light and airflow.

Custom cabinetry was completed in a 2-pack finish with 40mm stone tops to the kitchen and a 150mm stone fascia was used on the vanity tops.

A splash of colour was brought in through the use of a coloured glass splashback to the kitchen, the entire house was repainted and most importantly the entry door was painted a bright red to pay homage to the owners culture.

We engaged Urban Scene Construction in August 2010 to renovate the upstairs of our pre-war home. Jason was friendly and helpful right from the start and assisted us throughout the build process with design ideas. The job was completed on schedule and the build quality is of the highest standard. 3 months on we have had no need for any alterations or fixes which is a testament to the quality of the work. We found Urban Scene Construction to be supportive and contactable throughout the build process and will certainly be in contact again for any future work. Cheers,
