Renovation and Extension Manly West

Full Home Extension & Renovation in Manly West

Our clients came to us wanting to complete a major renovation on their two storey home. The brief, a complete internal reconfiguration achieving a modern update.

Firstly we needed to create a spacious living and dining area on the lower floor, to do so we removed the outdated columns and walls to create flow and openness whilst still having a separate living room and office off the entry. We designed a new kitchen with the layout allowing the owners to freely cook and entertain at the same time, it was important they still felt connected to family and friends when in the kitchen. The pantry was designed as a feature using a deep oak stained timber veneer, the 2-pack base cabinets and overheads were finished in high gloss, the timber feature doors in a satin to add contrast, and a beautiful 40mm Caesarstone top was used to finish the kitchen’s opulent look. The existing bathroom and laundry were updated with new custom cabinetry, tiles, shower screens and mirrors.

The front entry was modernised with new timber doors, a new set of beautiful timber stairs were installed and finished with frameless glass balustrade to continue the contemporary theme to the upper floor. Another important element of the renovation was to create additional storage under the stairs ensuring a cohesive look between the kitchen and living areas so it further enhanced the look of the rooms.  We reconfigured the space under the stairs and connected the two rooms using the same material used on the doors in the kitchen, we achieved something not only functional but a truly luxe in design, look and feel.

Upstairs the master suite was reconfigured to allow for a new walk-in-robe and more practical ensuite, the existing main bathroom and toilet were refurbished.  Beautiful tumbled and honed travertine tiles laid in a French pattern on the floors in all of the wet areas and to further accentuate the opulent feel and look we installed frameless shower screens, polished edge mirrors and full height tiles were used on the walls.  Again all cabinetry was custom designed for the bathroom, ensuite and walk-in-robe.

To finish, the office and separate living area on the lower floor and the entire upper floor were re-carpeted, the lower main floor retiled, new lighting installed throughout and the home was repainted completing the fresh new look.

Urban Scene Construction made it so easy for us to achieve our vision for our renovated home. They were great to work with, listened to what we wanted and offered good advice on the best way to get things done. They were always available to answer our questions. Nothing was too much trouble and their customer service is excellent. Professional every step of the way from their quote, to construction, to billing, we were always fully informed on the progress of our renovation. Their knowledge of the industry, the design trends, compliance and regulation is impressive. We have engaged Urban Scene Construction on 3 separate occasions to complete home renovations for us. There is simply no one else we would trust to deliver an outstanding finished product, at a fair price, in the agreed timeframe.
