Renovation and Extension Carindale

Full Home Renovation Extension and Internal Remodel in Carindale

Our clients came to us wanting to add an extra living to their already expansive home.  The need, to extend their current living quarters to accommodate returning family.

Undertaking all phases of the planning and development stages for our client, completing structural design and certification and working very closely with our clients and our designer to achieve an extension that looked like it had always been part of the original home, it was important that we didn’t compromise the overall look of the existing home and it remain in keeping with it’s Georgian style.

We extended the roof line and added an additional storey to allow for new  living, kitchen, bedroom, main bathroom, study, laundry and storage under the stairs. There is internal access via the new garages and external access via the new entry we completed the look with a  new driveway. We replicated the existing entry porch over the new entry of the extension using the same plinths and columns, continuing with the same style of windows and pictured framed the outside to further replicate the look.

Matching the existing roof tiles and gutter to the extension the house was then bag rendered for a seamless finish. Internally we used beautiful Sydney Blue Gum flooring and Malunak timber on the stairs to complement the floors, both were finished in a satin polish coat further bringing out their natural beauty.

All cabinetry was custom designed, the kitchen functional and beautiful with it’s shakers style doors for added interest, a moveable island bench to create unencumbered space and flow when needed.  Black hardware and benchtops were carried throughout the home for continuity, every detail was important to the owners.

Not only did we create an extension that looks as though it has always been there, our clients now have a new wing to their home.

Wow, it looks like it has always been there! It’s so impressive,” is the most common response from people viewing our extension by Urban Scene Construction. This includes from members of the public who have knocked on our door or spoken with us on the front lawn asking for contact details of our builder, which we have provided with a very high recommendation. From the initial meeting and plan design, submission to council and the style of cabinets and pattern on the driveway, Urban Scene Construction gave us confidence that we were dealing with experienced, professional, creative and highly trustworthy people. Jason and Chantal were only a phone call or an email away throughout the whole process. They gave us their time and recommendations at all stages of the process, outlined considerations of designs that we would never have thought of and listened to what we wanted. They took away the stress and this extension became an enjoyable experience. Jason and Chantal went above and beyond what we expected and have a genuine interest in providing the highest level of support and service to their clients. We can only give them the highest recommendation possible and thanks for a fantastic end product that has greatly increased the value of our house.
