How Long Does It Take to Renovate?

All renovations are different so the time it takes to renovate your project is likely to be different to that of friends and family that have built previously.

The main elements that determine a projects timeframe is the size and complexity of the project and if the builder works to a schedule. A good builder will be able to step you through the process from start to finish and provide you with a schedule of works, you should be able to access this schedule at any time and it should be updated regularly taking into account any changes that have been made along they way.

As a guide the following timeframes can be used when thinking about renovating: A complete bathroom, kitchen or laundry renovation can range between 5-8 weeks, a medium renovation, for example an extension or internal reconfiguration can take anywhere between 3-4 months, where as a large renovation, for example a raise and build under or second storey addition can take 6+ months. It is important to understand that when you embark on your renovation journey, especially one of a larger scale you will need to move out for the duration of the works for both the safety of your family and the efficient running of the project.
